The Ontonagon County Commission on Aging and Lake Gogebic Senior Citizens Club, Inc offer a medical escort program to seniors age 60 and older who need assistance reaching medical facilities. This is an on-demand transportation service for non-emergency medical appointments. To schedule a ride, call the Lake Gogebic Senior Citizens Club with 48 hours advance notice. Call by Thursday the week prior to schedule a Monday appointment and ride.
Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for their mileage. Clients are asked to cover parking fees and other costs associated with the trip, including a courtesy meal for their driver if trips are over 4 hours.
